New plotter
The Colorlab and Océ continue their good co-operation. Océ has given the Colorlab access to a high-tech large-scale plotter. Wednesday 7th of December three representatives from Océ visited the Colorlab to officially hand over the plotter. Henning Hagelund and Anton Strand from Océ Norway and Dirk Brouns, vice president for strategy planning at Océ’s headquarter in Venlo, the Netherlands were at Gjøvik University College this day.
-We have an ambition to be close to industry. Océ giving us a plotter symbolizes our good co-operation with Océ, Dean Morten Irgens at Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology said.
The three representatives were guided through the research activities at the Colorlab. Marius Pedersen, researcher at the Colorlab, gave a presentation of his PhD thesis which was executed in co-operation with Océ Créteil. The representatives were also guided at NiSlab, the media laboratories and the Colorlab.
-I am impressed over the level of research at the Colorlab and I am sure we will find more projects to cooperate around in the future, Dirk Brouns said.
-This was a great opportunity for us at the Colorlab to show our activities to a very important collaborator. The plotter will firstly be at the Colorlab for two years, and it enables us to get better quality assurance of prints. The Colorlab looks forward to an exciting and colorful collaboration with Océ, Associate Professor Peter Nussbaum at the Colorlab concludes.
