Aim	The intention of the course is to give an introduction to and an overview of systems for wireless communication based on use of radiowaves. Different kinds of actual radiosystems will be treated such as systems for audio and video broadcasting, mobile communication, navigation and system for interfacing equipment and units.
Content	An introduction to radio communication - system development - radio transmission - noise estimates Broadcasting systems for audio and video - analog and digital systems Satellite systems Mobile communication: -earth-bound and satellite-based systems. NMT, GSM and UMTS Radiosystems for short and very short distances: - wireless LAN, Bluetooth and others Navigation systems: - GPS, ILS and others

Assessment	Written Exam, 4 hours
