Aim

Students learn the basics of surveying: instruments, methods, accuracy and associated mathematics. Practice in surveying shall give necessary skills.

     - Levelling, ordinary and precise
     - Angle measurements
     - Distance measurements
     - Electronic data capture
- Basic survey methods
     - Computations of coordinates, distances and bearings
     - Corrections of measured distances
     - Trigonometric levelling with corrections
     - Intersections
     - Traverses
     - Measuring of detail points
     - Measuring of boundaries
- Theory of errors
     - Types of errors
     - Observations of different weights
     - Law on the propagation of errors
     - Deviations, tolerances
     - Introduction of least squares method
- Relevant mathematics
     - Trigonometric functions and their use
     - Statistics, the Gauss curve, standard deviation, mean and           standard deviation of observations with different weights
     - Differentiation
