Aim

On completion of this course, students will:
- Have a basic knowledge of the law relating to the rights of property and the supporting reference documentation;
- Understand the planning and procedures involved in property cases in accordance with current laws and regulations;
- Be capable of preparing detailed task requirements for property identification and monumenting;
- Understand other formal procedures applicable to surveying and mapping authorities, and their relationships with other relevant official authorities;
- Be able to interpret and understand local authority development plans and procedures.

Content

Methods, rights and society, relevant laws;
- Overview of the official administrative system, and Konsesjonslova, Vassdragslov, Forurensningslov etc.;
- Introduction to Forvaltningslov and Offentlighetslov;
- Introduction to Plan og Bygningslova especially concerning subdivisions and land use planning;
- Introduction to formal procedures such as land registry, addressing, property map definition, use of GAB, land inheritence, etc.
