Aim | The students shall know current methods used for producing printed matter. They shall know the modes of operation and the capacity of machinery used for printing and finishing, being capable to choose suitable materials for specific end products and specific production processes. |
Content | Analogue and digital printing techniques, plate making, design and function of printing presses, standardized reproduction, standardized printing, color management, bookbinding and finishing. Materials used in graphical production and their properties: printing plates, inks, paper formats, papers and substrates' characteristics, their printability and runability. |
Study Methods | Lectures, Laboratory Work, Group Works, Excursions Lectures (65%), excursions (15%), teamwork an laboratory experiments (20%). |
