Aim | The course shall give students knowledge of the welfare state's historical developement and ideological basis, as well as an understanding of dominant sociopolitical models and insight into the challenges facing Nordic and international welfare policies. The students investigative and critical attitude towards welfare policy will be stimulated with a special focus on the social changes and risks in our time including marginalized and underpriviledged groups. |

Assessment | Group-based written exam and oral presentation including the developement of an abstract dealing with a given subject area within welfare policy. Both are assessed group-wise and both must be passed. |
